How do I set the Date & Time?
The date & time are set automatically with every incoming call. There are no provisions to set the clock manually.
Why don't I hear a Caller ID announcement?
Check the volume setting of the unit. Do not assume that the volume is "on" because you hear the unit on review. Refer to your User's Guide which was supplied with this unit or download the correct guide from ClassCo's support website for instructions on setting the volume level.

Check for proper services. Does the caller ID information appear on the display of this unit or any other caller ID enabled devices in the home?

My Caller ID is not announcing names.
The 9900CW is not designed to announce names as displayed on the Caller ID. To have the unit announce the name you must first record the name into memory.
The 9900CW announces the wrong name.
This occurs most commonly on older units. Delete the affected names/numbers and manually re-enter the telephone number, then re-record the name.
No characters are visible on the display.
Check that the power adapter is plugged into a live outlet. Move the adapter to a different outlet to verify.

Check that the power adapter is firmly connected to the Caller ID unit.

Verify that you are using ONLY the power adapter that was supplied with the unit.
My Caller ID is not identifying incoming calls.
Verify proper services are being supplied by your telephone service provider.

The 9900CW is not designed to be used in a 2-line system. If you have two telephone numbers in the same residence, special wiring design may be required. Consult your telephone repair technician.

The 9900CW is not designed to work with a digital telephone "system", i.e. business system. This device should work properly with commonly available digital telephone "services" such as what may be provided by a cable TV company, or with standard analog telephone service.

Do you have DSL Internet service installed in the home? Insufficient filtering of the DSL signal may interfere with the Caller ID data. You may need to upgrade your DSL filter.
My Caller ID will not announce Call Waiting calls.
Verify proper services are being supplied by your telephone service provider. Three services are required for call waiting calls to be identified:
  1. Caller ID
  2. Call Waiting
  3. Call Waiting Caller ID
Check for proper installation. Improper installation may cause undesirable operation. Refer to your User's Guide which was supplied with this unit or download the correct guide from ClassCo's support website.

Check that "CW Name" feature is not enabled in the special features menu. Refer to your User's Guide which was supplied with this unit or download the correct guide from ClassCo's support website.

Check that "CW Speaker" feature is not enabled in the special features menu. Refer to your User's Guide which was supplied with this unit or download the correct guide from ClassCo's support website.

In order for this feature to work properly, you must be speaking on the telephone that is directly connected to the 9900CW when you receive the first call waiting notification.
I am immediately switched to the call waiting caller.

The red LED light is on/blinking.
The LED will stay on solid to indicate the line is in use.

The LED blinks to indicate un-reviewed calls in the call log. Review all calls in the call log.

The LED blinks to indicate the presence of voice mail. Review all new voice mails.

Unplug the power adapter for 5 minutes. Once power is restored the LED should not resume blinking unless one of the above conditions is present.
The Caller ID beeps.
The unit will beep every few seconds to indicate that a new voice mail has been received. Review all new voice mails or deactivate the MSG-BEEP feature in the special features menu. Refer to your User's Guide which was supplied with this unit or download the correct guide from ClassCo's support website.
